End Point of the Electroweak Phase Transition A
نویسنده
چکیده
We study the hot electroweak phase transition (EWPT) by 4-dimensional lattice simulations on lattices with symmetric and asymmetric lattice spacings and give the phase diagram. A continuum extrapolation is done. We find first order phase transition for Higgs-boson masses m H < 66.5 ± 1.4 GeV. Above this end point a rapid cross-over occurs. Our result agrees with that of the dimensional reduction approach. It also indicates that the fermionic sector of the Standard Model (SM) may be included perturbatively. We get for the SM end point 72.4 ± 1.7 GeV. Thus, the LEP Higgs-boson mass lower bound excludes any EWPT in the SM.

In this paper, an analytic treatment of electroweak phase transition is proposed within the two-Higgs doublet model. This phase transition occurs in one stage and is strongly first order. Therefore, it can be applied to the electroweak baryogenesis scenario, whereas the standard model cannot provide this condition considering the experimental data. Also, we study CP violation which is one of th...
متن کاملElectroweak phase transition: recent results
Recent results of four-dimensional (4d) lattice simulations on the finite temperature electroweak phase transition (EWPT) are discussed. The phase transition is of first order in the SU(2)-Higgs model below the end point Higgs mass 66.5±1.4 GeV. For larger masses a rapid cross-over appears. This result completely agrees with the results of the dimensional reduction approach. Including the full ...

We report results of a study of the end point of the electroweak phase transition of the SU(2) gauge-Higgs model defined on a four-dimensional isotropic lattice with Nt = 2. Finite-size scaling study of Lee-Yang zeros yields λc = 0.00116(16) for the end point. Combined with a zero-temperature measurement of Higgs and W boson masses, this leads to MH,c = 68.2 ± 6.6 GeV for the critical Higgs bos...

We study the end-point of the Electroweak phase transition using the auxiliary mass method. The end point is mH ∼ 40 (GeV) in the case mt = 0 (GeV) and strongly depends on the top quark mass. A first order phase transition disappears at mt ∼ 160 (GeV). The renormalization effect of the top quark is significant. The Electroweak phase transition is one of the most important phase transitions at t...
متن کاملWhat's New with the Electroweak Phase Transition? *
We review the status of non-perturbative lattice studies of the electroweak phase transition. In the Standard Model, the complete phase diagram has been reliably determined, and the conclusion is that there is no phase transition at all for the experimentally allowed Higgs masses. In the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM), in contrast, there can be a strong first order transition allo...
